Cycle Group Co-leader

We are looking for people (18 +) to join our volunteer team as cycle co-leaders on our weekly wellbeing cycle group. Volunteers will assist in leading groups with a range of abilities on 90 minute social rides once a week. Planned routes will be around the local area, largely on cycleways and cycle paths. We are looking for volunteers who can ride for a minimum of 10km, who have their own bike, who are confident and with a good level of proficiency on the road.

 

About The Ripple Project

Improving the quality of life for people in Restalrig and Lochend through the provision of high quality services which assist the community to help itself. We run 18 projects providing services for children and young people, families, the elderly and individuals in crisis.

 

Experience Required

Enough fitness to ride a minimum of 10km, confident riding on the road both in a group and independently, able to safely control and manoeuvre their bike with understanding of gears, brakes and indication, own their own bike and equipment, willing to undertake leader training paid for by The Ripple.

 

Training Details

Induction will take place on commencement of volunteering. Leadership training will happen within 6 months. Support can happen once a month as required by the volunteer.

Flexibility & Commitment

Term Time; Flexible; Ad hoc

3 hours per month for 6 months.
