Kick Ass Hostels are a rapidly growing company of backpacker hostels, currently located in the centre of Edinburgh with the aim to expand to other locations soon. We are looking to recruit another Cook to join our Kitchen team!
What We Are Looking For …
- Previous kitchen experience is ideal
- Outgoing and lively personality
- Creative and proactive
- Considerate and friendly
- Customer-focused mindset
- Ability to maintain a proactive and positive attitude during busy environments
- Punctual and presentable with excellent grooming standards
- Thorough knowledge if Food & Hygiene regulations
- Ability to creative problem solve
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively on your own while also working well with your kitchen/bar team
- Always willing to help the team
- Fluent in English – additional languages will be a plus
- Flexible working hours (evenings and weekends)
Your Tasks Include…
- Ensuring you comply with Scottish Licensing Laws and Food & Hygiene regulations at all times
- Keep a clean and organised workspace at all times – deep clean as necessary
- Work closely with your fellow hostel crew to ensure the service is the best possible at all times
- Cook food to order to a high standard
- Contribute to hostel events, specials and promotions
- Ensure excellent kitchen hygiene is always maintained
- Take orders to tables
- Clear & clean tables as necessary (partially guest facing role)
- Wash dishes
- Complete daily, weekly and monthly tasks as required to a high standard at all times
- Place orders where asked and put them away upon arrival
- Prep for next day/shift
- Open/Closing duties of the department as required
