Salary: £19,383 pro-rata

Role

Working at a local and national level, Visibility Scotland aims to affect positive change and improve outcomes for visually impaired people, of all ages. We want to empower and encourage children and adults to focus on what they can do, not what they cannot.

Visibility Scotland are now seeking to recruit a Support Worker, funded through the Access to Work scheme, to become part of a person centred team based within Edinburgh Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion. The post involves providing support 3 days per week. The post will initially be a hybrid role, as it will involve working from home due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. However, the post will eventually transition to a full-time base at Princess Alexandria Eye Pavilion once restrictions allow.

The Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion, Eye Clinic Patient Support service provides a bridge between clinic to the community. The post holder will provide direct support to the Patient Support Worker and will primarily involve a high degree of administrative work. The post holder must have excellent communication and IT skills and the innate desire to provide inclusive support to all. The role will also require some sighted guiding on occasion. A willingness to learn how to provide sighted guiding is a must.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a motivated and ambitious organisation. The successful candidate will ideally have a proven track record in administrative support, ideally within the health and social care field or third-sector. The post holder must have team spirit!

There could also be an opportunity for additional hours as we expand our Patient Support services.
