The Job

As part of a new and exciting project to replatform Hunters eCommerce digital systems we now require an experienced Infrastructure Engineer within our Edinburgh team to:

    • Support our core infrastructure and services in Microsoft Azure
  • • Monitoring infrastructure, services and applications hosted in the cloud
    • Help determine overall technical requirements for storage and server resources, as well as the integration of the wider network, security, and any other infrastructure needs for cloud-centric solutions
    • Ensure that the company is always audit-ready with regards to cloud security and compliance
  • • Stay abreast of new cloud offerings that can be leveraged within the business
  • Support with the management of Azure and on-premise firewalls to ensure that security and connectivity is maintained

A key part of the role will be to deliver and support based on ITIL principles and in line with internal Hunter IT policies and Procedures. The role holder will provide a multiple level Cloud Engineer service for the company.

It is envisaged and expected that there will be a close working relationship with Microsoft, Hunter’s appointed business partners, strategically positioned IT staff and the wider operational business.

The Person

The ideal person for this role will have significant IT infrastructure experience implementing change and improvements gained within a fast-paced fashion/retail business environment.

As the development of Microsoft collaboration tools, application and services is a key strategic requirement for the business the role holder is expected, as a minimum, to have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver and support all Microsoft services deployed, including but not restricted to:

    • Experience of architecting, developing and deploying services in Microsoft Azure
    • Working knowledge of Azure core services related to compute, network, storage, content delivery, administration and security deployments
    • Strong familiarity with Windows operating systems
    • Familiarity with routers, firewalls, switches and TCP/IP protocols
  • • Office 365 suite, email, compliance and security
  • • Microsoft operating systems
  • • Microsoft Teams with unified voice

Where possible, the role holder will further enhance these services, developing new services where required and ensuring they are aligned to operational business needs and the IT strategy.

The key responsibilities of this role are:

 

  • Support the Hunter Cloud services and Infrastructure including Azure VM’s, PAAS IAAS, SAAS services, as well as on premise services such as Cisco, HP Switches and Windows server 2012 R2
  • Provide hands-on IT operational support to all Hunter locations
  • Be responsible for the provision and support of IT infrastructure services including networks and servers; local and wide area networks; IT security, patching, automation and telecommunications
  • Maintain the IT environment in line with IT usage, security policy, procedures and best practice
  • Creation, design and involvement in IT projects as and when required
  • Liaison with key strategic third-party IT business partners as and when required
