Job Description
This job would suit someone with a basic knowledge of the building trade who is eager to learn more with “on the job” training, not a newcomer. It would also be better for someone who lives in the Midlothian area or who has their own transport to get to Mayfield, Midlothian where our base is.
This is a full time position in a small company (there are 6 of us at the moment), we are contractors for Midlothian Council and Melville Housing association so the job is centered around repair/renew/renovation work in properties, schools, leisure centres, libraries, parks and any place/area owned by the local authority – we will require the successful applicant to pass Disclosure Scotland at a future date, they will also be required to pass CSCS Health and Safety which we will help them with, again, at a future date. We are a Living Wage employer.
duties will include: assisting tradesman, basic knowledge of building work, slabbing, brickwork, plasterwork, roughcast and stonework/pointing.
hours are: Mon-Thur 8.00am – 4.30pm and Friday 8.00am – 3.30pm there is occasional Saturday work available as an option.
