Catering Assistant – Edinburgh, Midlothian

Grade and Salary: Grade 3 (£21,901 – £22,681)

FTE and working pattern:  35 hours (1 FTE), Rota based shift pattern

Annual leave:  28 days

Purpose of Role: The Bistro Assistant will deliver service excellence to squads and facility users.

Summary of Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Bistro Assistant will provide excellent counter service
  • The Bistro Assistant will help support squad delivery
  • The Bistro Assistant will maintain Bistro facility cleaning at all times
  • The Bistro Assistant will work to upsell Bistro items

Education, Qualifications & Experience:

Essential

  1. Demonstrable ability to speak and understand English in order to follow verbal and written instructions and deal with customer/student queries
  2. Well-developed interpersonal skills
  3. Demonstrable excellent customer service
  4. Demonstrable ability to work quickly, flexibly and accurately in a pressured environment
  5. Demonstrable professional and proactive approach
  6. Attention to detail

Desirable

  1. Experience of working within a similar catering and/or cleaning environment
  2. Experience of operating relevant catering and/or cleaning equipment
