Weekend & Evening Whisky Shop Adviser
Location: 354 Castlehill, The Royal Mile, EH1 2NE
Pay: Starting rate of £9.00 per hour, increasing to £9.27 with experience
Hours: Permanent 7.25 hours per weekend plus 4 hours one evening per week. Additional hours over summer and festive period. If you are a student, we can fit this around term times.

You will already be:
• A determined people pleaser who will go the extra mile for every customer
• Confident in approaching and chatting to people from around the world
• A clear and engaging communicator with excellent sales skills
• Inquisitive, a keen learner and happy to find the answer to any question
• Flexible in your approach and able to think on your feet to solve problems
You may have worked in specialist retail before or perhaps you speak another language,
but this isn’t essential if you have the enthusiasm and personality we’re looking for.
The role will require you to:
• Approach and provide a genuine warm welcome to every customer
• Demonstrate a passion for and a knowledge of our products
• Help customers find their ideal whisky by asking questions and listening carefully
• Sell and gift-wrap products at till points whilst engaging with customers
• Help with deliveries and ensure our products are well-stocked and are displayed neatly and clearly on the shelves
• Work through daily tasks in conjunction with the rest of our retail team
• Assist with general housekeeping before opening and after closing
• Act as an ambassador for Scotch whisky, Edinburgh, and Scotland as a whole
In turn, we will develop you through regular coaching and training, and encourage you to gain the skills required to reach Senior Whisky Shop Advisor level.
