Friendly, enthusiastic Street Team wanted for Edinburgh Fringe!

Something for the Weekend presents theatre, comedy, musicals, circus shows and everything in between at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, in London, around the UK and also overseas. Our portfolio of productions and promotions past and present includes the 2016 Olivier Award-winning Showstopper! The Improvised Musical, 2018 Olivier nominated The B*easts plus BalletBoyz, Cruel Intentions: The 90s Musical, Superstar, Cirque Berserk!, Cirkopolis and many, many more!

This year we are presenting a number of shows in Edinburgh and we are looking for dynamic, outgoing, friendly, enthusiastic, conscientious and reliable people who really love the arts to be a part of our flyering team.

The flyering team is a key element of all of our shows’ marketing campaigns and every year we look to put together a group of people who are keen to work hard and play hard, and to take on the challenge of building audiences for all of our productions.

We’ll need you to be Edinburgh based, or able to arrange your own accommodation as this unfortunately cannot be provided. The Festival runs from 2nd – 28th August, and we are looking for people who are available from 31st July and be available to work the full run.

Ideally you will have good knowledge of Edinburgh city and have either been to or worked at the Edinburgh Fringe before and some form of sales or customer service experience is desirable. You will also be polite and positive (even in the face of Edinburgh rain, as this job involves a lot of time being spent outdoors) and very happy to talk to the general public!

The role requires the individual to be positioned and handing out flyers in various areas across Edinburgh, usually multiple locations each day. Please be aware that the Edinburgh office, and street team base, is currently situated on the first floor without step free access.

This is a great chance to see behind the scenes of the Festival, to meet people, gain an insight into the arts industry which could help with future career plans, as well as experience the Festival. As part of our Street Team, you will see all of our shows (so that you can confidently and truthfully talk about them to potential audiences!), meet the artists and will receive venue passes which will give you the opportunity to see shows for free in your spare time.

If you would like to apply for this role, please email a CV and a covering letter explaining why you’d like to be considered to jemma@sftw.info
Please also send a short review (no more than 100 words) of a recent show you’ve seen, written as if you were recommending it to a friend.
Due to the nature of the role, the hours involved and that some flyering will necessarily take place on licensed premises, we are looking to engage people who are aged 18 or over as of 30th July 2023.

We look forward to hearing from you.
