  • Tuesday 3rd August, 10am – 12pm: ACTING FOR SCREEN WORKSHOP
  • Want to learn how to act in front of the camera? Join us as we delve into how to successfully self-tape and use personal techniques to create compelling, complex characters. Partnered with script analysis this newly imagined workshop will show you how to bring real-life details into every role, and how to build your own creative process. Get ready for your breakout performance.
  • Tuesday 3rd August, 2pm – 4pm: ENTRY LEVEL ROLES WORKSHOP
  • Paola studied filmmaking and has experience as a freelance Researcher, Production Runner, Production Secretary, Production Coordinator and Development Assistant. She has even led Masterclasses discussing the do’s and don’ts of being a Runner. So, she’s well placed to give advice on this subject. Sign up now and be prepared to take notes!
  • So, you’ve completed your filmmaking studies and have the qualifications to prove it. What next? Join Screen and film School graduate and Freelance Production Crew member Paola Dominique as she presents a workshop detailing some of the most common entry points into the UK film industry.
  • Wednesday 4th August, 10am – 12pm: Pitching workshop
  • Due to the embargoed content featured, Screen and Film School will be unable to offer attendees a recording of the session. So, be sure to attend the live workshop for expert pitching tips and advice.
  • During this session, Emma will break-down one of Viv Loves Film’s ‘pitch decks’ for one of their authors and together with Emma you will have a go at creating your own!
  • Have you ever wondered how to pitch your film idea to potential investors? Want to know how the professionals do it? Join Emma Topping – Executive Producer, Owner of Viv Loves Film and Entertainment Lawyer – as she provides a full overview of ‘the pitch’.
  • Thursday 5th August, 10am – 12pm: Sound for Film workshop  If you want to know the do’s and don’ts of sound within your own productions, then you most certainly do not want to miss this workshop!
  • In the second half of the workshop, we’ll hear from a post-production sound specialist who will share their experience in the TV and Film Industry.
  • Bad audio can ruin an otherwise great piece of video. So, never underestimate the importance of sound! In the first half of this dedicated workshop, we’ll hear from Sound Recordist and Screen and Film School alumni, Matt Wilkinson, who’ll provide us with a broad overview of his role on-set and on-location, as well as a look at some of the key pieces of kit he works with on a daily basis.
  • Friday 6th August, 10am – 12pm: Forming Ideas and Pre-production workshop
  • Once you’ve registered your interest on Eventbrite, you will be emailed a private Zoom link by Screen and Film School before the event starts.
  •  Come Along. Be Inspired.
  • Come and join our interactive session with Oscar nominated producer Baldwin Li (The Voorman Problem, England is Mine). Baldwin will take you through his methodology for developing ideas: right from their inception, through to writing synopses, treatments and one-pagers, creating moodbooks and, of course, writing scripts themselves. Come away knowing what the industry expects and how to pitch it to the right audience, so that film and TV companies will sit up and take notice of your great idea!
