North Edinburgh Childcare is one of the premier providers of high quality, affordable childcare and education services in Edinburgh and is known for its community based approach to delivering accredited childcare training. We are currently seeking applications for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to fill the following post within our Childcare Team and new entrants will normally commence on the minimum of the pay range unless qualified then the qualification bar will be the starting point in this instance:
NURSERY CHILDCARE & EDUCATION PRACTITIONER
Full Time – 35.83 Hours/Week (Monday – Friday)
Salary Scale 13-22 (£18,247.89-£22,419.74/annum) (Qualification Bar Scale 18 – £20,263.13)

The successful applicant will work as part of a team delivering a high quality childcare and education service for children aged 4 months – 5 years in a nursery setting. Applicants must demonstrate they have knowledge of the Pre-Birth to Three guidance document and/or the early level of the Curriculum for Excellence.
Practitioners have a key role in the efficient and effective delivery of a setting and they must be able to promote the learning, development and all round well-being of children by identifying and meeting their care, support and learning needs, as well as being able to oversee the work of others and delegating tasks to maintain the running of the provision and well-being of the children as and when required.
The individual will have experience of working in an early learning and childcare setting and will be able to work as part of an established team in the delivery of a high quality service.
All applicants must hold a relevant childcare qualification, e.g. HNC in Childcare and Education; NNEB; SVQ Level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development or equivalent.
