Application closing date: 31 Jan 2023

We are looking for a graduate (or soon to be graduate, but may consider other relevant experience) to provide full administrative, business processing support and creative ideas to a team of Financial Advisers in an entrepreneurial, busy and prosperous Wealth Management Practice. We would like to place the full time role now, therefore the applicant should be in a position to take on full time hours on starting.

This is a small, creative and autonomous business within the infrastructure of St. James’s Place Wealth Management. The full time position will allow the successful person a great deal of flexibility, but will also demand the ability to take responsibility for their own work and behaviour.

The role will be varied and mixed but will include:

– Processing business written on a daily basis
– Handling and managing daily email queries
– Management of office purchases and supplies e.g. stationery and equipment
– Supporting fee earners
– Keeping track of current work, making sure deadlines are met and reporting to the team
– Keeping spreadsheets and databases up to date
– Dealing with clients’ day to day queries on the telephone, by e-mail and in writing
– Getting to know clients in order to anticipate their needs
– Audio Typing, photocopying, scanning (we are a paperless office) and filing where necessary
– Investment and mortgage business processing
– Assisting in the preparation for client meetings including any research that needs to be done
– Currently working remotely but once relocated to our central Edinburgh office we would expect this role to be based 100% in the office, as the successful candidate will be meeting and greeting clients in the office, making them welcome
– Diary management, room booking and appointment making (not cold calling)
– Assisting us with the day to day management of various personal and business projects

Person Specification:

We are looking for someone who is willing to work enthusiastically with the team both in their daily fee earning activities and their more creative entrepreneurial ideas, in an environment where the clients’ needs always come first.

This is a great position for someone who is self motivated, able to do several things at once and does not require too much structure in their working day.

As this is a highly regulated environment, we are ideally looking for someone with administrative experience, ideally in the financial services sector (1-2 years experience would be preferable.) We will provide additional training and briefings in all aspects of the work. Good computer skills are essential as are high quality written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. We all work very closely together, putting clients at the centre of our work.

We may consider adapting this role to a permanent contract should things progress well for all parties.

Please email your CV with a covering letter explaining why you are interested in this position to: louise.robertson@sjpp.co.uk
