European Cruise Service is a tour operator based in Leith, specialising in the ground arrangements for cruise ships calling to the UK & Ireland.

We are looking to recruit full time permanent employees and seasonal administrators.

 

Assistant Shore Excursion Managers – Full time. 

Salary – £21,000 DOE

Location –  Leith

European Cruise Service UK is part of a long established and successful tour operator covering the UK & Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Asia, providing services directly to Cruise Operators and their passengers. The main function of European Cruise Service UK is to provide land-based excursions to cruise ship passengers arriving at ports in all parts of the UK and Ireland.

We are recruiting Assistant Shore Excursion Managers to work as part of our experienced team. This role is full-time, permanent, and based at our offices on Constitution Street, Leith.

The Role

As Assistant Shore Excursion Manager, you will assist senior staff to deliver operations for your areas.

Under direction from the Senior Shore Excursion Managers, you will collaborate with other members of the team to deliver those operations effectively. You will assist with the planning and organisation of services, and you will help to resolve any difficulties that arise.

It is expected that you assist the Senior Shore Excursion Managers and the Management Team to prepare bids, including the design of new tours and gathering supplier prices. You will work in collaboration with all other staff to enable all functions of the business to operate smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Company in providing effective and confidential services to its cruise clients and suppliers.
  • Work within a team environment and provide a high level of customer service.
  • Assist senior staff with account management for allocated cruise lines that includes fostering good business relationships.
  • Assist with preparation of bids and requests for proposals for future business, including the development of new tour products and the gathering of supplier price information.
  • Make and maintain supplier bookings.
  • Assist senior staff to foster strong business relationships with suppliers, including the negotiation of prices.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in tourism is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, including a good telephone manner.
  • Ability to work co-operatively and in a team environment.
  • IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office.
  • Organisation skills and the ability prioritise workloads.
  • A personable and enthusiastic manner.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, including changes to work patterns.
