  • 22.5 hours per week. Mondays – Fridays 1430-1900
  • 12.87 per hour + Sodexo benefits

  • Location is Ferryfield House, 100 Pilton Drive, Edinburgh , EH5 2HF.

As a Food Service Assistant at Sodexo in Ferryfield House, you’ll play an important part in preparing and serving nutritious, comforting meals that support patient recovery and wellbeing. You’ll also help maintain a clean, safe environment in the kitchen and dining areas. With a cheerful attitude and great customer service, your presence can make a real difference in someone’s day.

What you’ll do:

  • Assist with the setup and serving of hot and cold meals from counters and steam tables.
  • Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment and work areas to maintain hygiene standards.
  • Follow recipes and product instructions to ensure meal consistency and quality.
  • Break down and clean stations at the end of meal service.

What you bring:

  • Deliver friendly and welcoming service to colleagues, clients, and customers.
  • Assist with daily service setup, food preparation, and serving from our tempting menus.
  • Keep service and dining areas clean, tidy, and well-organised.
  • Work closely with the kitchen team to keep everything running smoothly.
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, allergen, and storage guidelines.
  • Set up and deliver food and beverages for client hospitality.
  • Operate a variety of standard kitchen equipment such as tills, dishwasher, oven, and fryer.
  • Undertake all aspects of cleaning including walls (up to 6ft), fixtures, fittings, floors, pots, pans, and utensils.
  • Transport waste to designated skips.
  • Assist in ad-hoc functions, some of which may occur outside of working hours.
  • Provide holiday and sickness cover in other areas of the business.
