🌟 Volunteer Opportunity: Family Befriender
Do you have a few hours to spare each week to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life? We’re looking for volunteer Family Befrienders who can offer up to 2 hours per week to support a local family—either in their home or in their community. Your presence could bring connection, encouragement, and a listening ear where it’s needed most.
We ask for a minimum commitment of 6 months, as building trust takes time—and your consistency can make all the difference.
👥 What We’re Looking For:
We welcome individuals who are:
- Caring and empathetic, with a genuine interest in supporting others
- Reliable, punctual, and consistent
- Good listeners who communicate respectfully and clearly
- Non-judgemental, able to set aside personal views
- Comfortable working independently, using common sense and initiative
- Aware of when to ask for help or support
- Multilingual skills are a plus as we support families from diverse backgrounds
- Access to a car can be helpful, but is not essential
