Locations: Edinburgh Central Youth Hostel, 9 Haddington Place, Leith Walk, Edinburgh EH7 4AL

 

Contract: Permanent

 

Hours per week: 40

 

Salary: Competitive + benefits

About the role of Duty Supervisor:

 

You will be part of our dedicated and friendly team at our Edinburgh Central Youth Hostel who are passionate about providing first class customer experience whilst contributing to synergy in achieving network wide success for the organisation.

 

Reporting to General Manager and Duty Manager, you will assist in supervising team on day-to-day operational of our hostel to ensure that we deliver high standards in all areas of our hostel activities and guests interactions so that our guests will have memorable and enjoyable experience with us. You will actively support team with hands-on approach, delivering customer service in all interactions with guests including front of house, F&B, housekeeping and night supervision.

 

The role will be suitable for individual with good experience in working hospitality and wishes to progress into hospitality management.

 

 

Ideally you will have:

 

–        Worked successfully in a customer facing role in similar hospitality surroundings with passion and commitment to excellent customer service, going for extra miles to assist guests and to support teams

–        Prior experience in accommodation sector, deputising manager in running a business whilst also adopting hands-on approach to get the job done

–        Excellent, confident communication skill, verbally and in writing, dealing with people at all levels

–        High degree of understanding of health and safety at work and practical experience of implementation, monitoring and developing best practice

–        Excellent understanding of relevant data protection protocol

–        Flexible and adaptable approach to work to changing workload and priorities during busy times and be able to operate in a calm manner.

–        Ability to create and work as a positive team worker

–       All successful candidates are required to provide two satisfactory references (including one to be the most recent employer) and a recent Basic Disclosure clearance

–       You must be able to provide an evidence of your right to work in the UK prior to starting with us.
