Job Description

Internship overview

The role of this internship is to support our research, policy, sponsorship, and membership projects.  Have some contact with others, both internally and externally, this could be face to face or by other means, online, telephone, email etc. Exchange routine information via Teams, Zoom, telephone, letter, in person. Specific details on the above can be adjusted depending on accessibility. Communicate with good written or verbal skills to ensure that information is understood by the recipient.

This will involve both being assigned work as well as proactively seeking opportunities to support colleagues across the organisation.

Main duties and tasks

• Analyse and write summary reports on our weekly polls.

• Research for potential weekly poll topics and consultations we should be responding to.

•  Promote and increase our sponsorship programme https://disabilityequality.scot/our-sponsors/ To build on our partnership working and income generation.

•  Promote and build on our young membership category, to encourage young people to have a voice on issues that matter to them.

•  Take minutes at Staff and External research/focus group meetings and then type up and distribute to relevant people.

•  Draft and schedule social media posts to provide updates on project and campaign work.

•  Proof-read newsletters and information for the website.

•  Dealing with general enquiries and directing them to the appropriate staff members.
