The Careers Adviser at your campus can help you to prepare for your interview. You can arrange to have a practice interview with the Careers Adviser and they can talk you through what you should expect at the interview. Remember that not all interviews take the same format. For example, some will be one to one while others will be panel interviews that might include three or four members of staff. In other interviews you might be expected to do some kind of presentation, it all depends on what kind of job you are applying for.

Interview Clothes
It is also important to dress appropriately when going for an interview. There is help available if you do not have suitable clothes for your interview. Smart Works Edinburgh provide women with work outfits from their stock of high-quality clothes donated by the public, local businesses and retailers. With styling advice and interview training offered too, their support helps women feel more confident and increases their chances of securing jobs.
To get help from Smart Works you need to be referred by the college. To ask about this please visit your Student Services office, or email the Jobzone team at jobzone@edinburghcollege.ac.uk.
