Job Description

DO YOU NEED WORK WHICH WILL FIT AROUND YOUR STUDIES AND OTHER LIFE COMMITMENTS?

We are a smaller sized independently owned care at home company offering services to the elderly and adult with disabilities around the City of Edinburgh. We have been operating for 17 years and pride ourselves in a high quality, individual service for our very varied clientele.

Over this time, many health and social care, nursing and other health related course students hoping to qualify for careers in their chosen field have benefitted from working with us on a part time basis to gain some “real people” experience. The type of work we offer is helping people through all personal care, medication management, moving and handling of clients with disabilities and all other support work necessary to help them have an improved quality of life.

We have a unique approach to working patterns in that our staff all give us the times they would like to work dependent on their other commitments such as study, family life etc, and we find work to fit in with that. This way no one is over stretched or made to work in a pattern that does not suit the important things in their life. As we operate 24/7, we have many opportunities for people to work at times which suit them, in a job which makes a real difference. Full training is given.

We ask you to give us the times within which you would like to work, and we fit work inside these times for you. If you want to change the times, all we require is 2 weeks’ notice.

All our rates of pay are above average for our industry. We believe in paying people well for a good service in return. The rates range from £10.00 to £13.00.

We are particularly looking for people who are available to work in the evenings and at weekends, at the moment, even if it is every second weekend, that can be accommodated, but we also have work available at other times, even during school hours. Remember, even if you only want 5 hours a week, this is fine with us, or if you only have 1 evening a week available, this is also fine.

We are also looking for bank workers who do not need to accept regular work, but are willing to be contacted when work is available in the hours they have indicated they may be available.
