£10 per hour increasing to £11 .50 after 1 year.
Edinburgh Young Carers is looking for experienced youth workers to assist with our respite groups. You will work with young people who have a caring role at home, to ensure that they are provided with the support and services that they require.
Sessional Youth Workers will be working with young carers from the age of 5 to 25 in group settings, assisting in the planning, preparation and delivery of group work activities, and building positive relationships with young carers through effective communication and listening skills.
You must be flexible, creative, enjoy challenges, able to work in a person-centred and empowering way, and be committed to the development of children and young people’s rights.
Specific Roles:
Summer Holiday Daytine Respite Groups :
Group and event support, helping with the running of activities, taking part and supporting the general feel of the group and enviroment. This role is for daytime activities from July – August, Monday to Thursday, so applicants must be available for midweek daytime sessions during the summer holidays. After summer, the role time requirements change to support our after school and evening respite groups, and Sessional Youth Workers can remain with our team to take up term-time shifts.
