Position: Seasonal General Assistant

 

Locations: Edinburgh Central Youth Hostel, 9 Haddington Place, Leith Walk, Edinburgh EH7 4AL

 

Contract: Fixed term, immediate start until end of November 2022

 

Hours per week: 40

 

Pay: £9.75 per hour + benefits

 

Accommodation: Live-in accommodation available

 

 

We are recruiting General Assistants to join our dedicated, friendly and professional team at our Edinburgh Central Youth Hostel, primarily undertaking housekeeping but also to assist with other service areas.

 

You will provide cleaning and housekeeping of guests accommodations and public areas to a very high standard. In addition you will also assist with other departments to support such as catering team as a kitchen porter, food and beverage and front of house duties.

 

You will have:

 

  • A passion in providing first class guest experience
  • Flexibility in your approach to adapt to all situations including changing workload and demands
  • A ‘can-do’ attitude, willingness to learn and keen attention to details

 

Previous cleaning/housekeeping experience, preferably in similar hospitality surroundings would be advantageous.

Additional Information:

 

  • The role involves some degree of physical activities such as bed making of bunk beds with upper and lower beds, including stripping and turning mattresses.
  • A successful candidate is required to provide one satisfactory reference and a recent Basic Disclosure clearance
  • You must be able to provide an evidence of your right to work in the UK prior to starting with us.
