Job Description
Position: Mechanical Services Technician
Who we are: Pipeline Technology Centre is a small engineering company located in the outskirts of Edinburgh carrying full scale testing for the oil and gas industry internationally. The Company is well established and offers a full time salary position, state pension and training; tools and equipment required for the position are supplied as well.
Description: We are looking to optimise our site operation. The individual must be hands-on, have practical skills, have experience in the oil and gas or the construction industry and to be willing to work and to learn. Mechanical background is required. Engineering background is beneficial. Health and safety awareness is paramount. Training will be provided. We are looking for a switched-on person to contribute to improving the business, protecting and enhancing the reputation of the Company, by putting forward new ideas and, when requested to do so, implementing change etc. All duties are to be completed accurately and delivered with high quality and in a timely manner. Due to location, owning a car is beneficial. The individual will be reporting directly to the two Company Directors.
Requirements:
· Mechanical/engineering background
· Hands-on problem solver
· Capable of thinking outside of the box
· Good physical condition
· Responsible and reliable; flexible and adaptable
· Multi-tasking and prioritising skills
· Communication and teamwork skills
· Forklift and slinger certification is not required but beneficial
· Electrical experience is not required but beneficial
· Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus
· Time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise work
· Excellent verbal communication skills
· H&S awareness/commitment to safety rules
· Drivers licence/owning a car (due to location)
Salary: Negotiable. Competitive.
Hours: 40-hour week.
