About the role

The main purpose of this role is to provide efficient and timely administrative support for the full range of HR admin related services provided by the Human Resources Department within SLAB.

This role will provide the jobholder with a varied and interesting scope of tasks and activities as it covers almost every aspect of HR administration. It provides excellent scope for the jobholder to develop their knowledge and administration skills generally and within an HR function.

This is a key position within a relatively small and close working team in a professional environment. The role is central to the smooth and successful operation of an efficient and effective HR service for our internal and external customers.

The job holder will have a high degree of autonomy in terms of how they plan and manage their day-to-day tasks and activities within set guidelines and timescales. An important aspect for the administrator role is to provide regular feedback of progress to the HR Officer and seek assistance when needed.

As well as on-going tasks, the administrator may be delegated other ad hoc activities by others in the team. They will be responsible for scheduling this within their other work priorities and providing updates on progress and output results.

Our HR team is keen to improve continuously the service provided to our customers. The administrator will have a significant role to play in this process. As the first point of contact within the department, the administrator is in a key position to alert the HR Officers to any problems and to identify aspects of the service, which have the potential to be improved, in order to provide a higher level of customer satisfaction.
