Role Overview

As a Civil Engineering Technician with Royal HaskoningDHV, your role will be to undertake site work and office-based activities to collect data and to contribute to the development of engineering solutions. You will play an integral role in every phase of the asset management
inspection programme from initial planning to carrying out site surveys and report writing. RHDHV carry out work across the UK on client’s infrastructure from telecommunication towers, aircraft hangars, explosive storage facilities on MoD and civilian establishments.

In addition, you will be required to carry out inspections and data collection on maritime assets such as slipways, jetties, dolphins and bridges. This position offers you the opportunity to work closely with an experienced team of Civil & Structural Engineers & Technicians and
provides a widely varied work environment with fully expensed travel around the UK and even internationally on occasion.

General Responsibilities

• Inspection and reporting of a wide range of assets from working at height inspecting telecommunication towers for several high-profile clients such as the MoD & Maritime and Coastguard Agency to carrying out inspections of building and maritime assets.
• Production of reports based on findings whilst out on site.
• Production of sketch drawings and details for CAD / Revit drafting by others and reviewing of these prior to issue.
• Liaising with clients.
• Work as part of a team of inspectors working to the highest safety standards.
• Climbing team member including planning WaH (Working at Height) activities (training provided).
• Qualified pilot drone surveys (training provided).

QUALIFICATIONS
• Must have a HNC / HND in Civil Engineering. Work at height training will be provided at an approved training centre.
• Must have a full, clean driving licence.

PROFILE
• Willingness to travel across the UK and overseas as required.
• Willingness to work at height of up to 100 metres and in adverse weather conditions.
• Experience of team working.
• An enthusiastic approach, self-motivated, able to work on own initiative and well organised.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• A professional understanding of, and commitment to, the highest standard of health & safety in the work environment.
• A good level of computer literacy.
• Commercially aware.
• Pass a pre-employment medical and fitness test before a formal offer of employment is confirmed.

Location

This role will be based in our Edinburgh office. The office is within walking distance of Ocean Terminal and the vibrant Leith area of the city.
