£9.50 per hour plus a share of the staff gratuities.
Part time hours including evenings and weekends.
Prestonfield, one of Scotland’s leading and highly individual Five Red Star hotels seeks a skilled and passionate full time Bartender to further develop the already high and award winning standards of its destination restaurant Rhubarb and Private Dining at Prestonfield.
Prestonfield is a high-profile destination, described as “the most glamorous hotel in town” by The Independent newspaper and as “Edinburgh’s most exciting hotel… unrivalled anywhere else in the city” by Time Out magazine.
Part of James Thomson’s collection of destinations that includes the Witchery by the Castle, Rhubarb is a busy high profile Two AA Rosette destination restaurant with high standards and demanding guests.
Prestonfield is very proud of its award-winning cellar so this is an opportunity to work and expand your knowledge with a notable collection of wines and our highly-regarded head sommelier. We currently hold the AA’s Wine Award for Scotland 2012 and a rare Wine Spectator Award of Excellence.
Candidate Specifications
Applicants for this role are likely to have a five-star hotel background or be able to demonstrate similar experience.
All candidates should have previous bar and waiting experience. Wine knowledge would be beneficial but there are opportunities for significant on the job training and tasting opportunities. Candidates should have Scotland Licensing & Social Responsibility Training or candidates will be required to complete Scotland Licensing & Social Responsibility Training during probationary period.
The successful applicant should have attention to detail, polite demeanour, neat appearance and an excellent grasp of written and spoken English is essential.
